Jackson's Off-Season Closes in Stages, and Mid-November Is the Thin Week

On the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 30, Town Square hosts The Haunting of JH, the Jackson Hole Chamber's Halloween event, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Two blocks south, Coe Tavern on South King Street will be in its last weeks of the season, running a 2-for-1 special before its final night of service on Nov. 8. Across the square, Jackson Drug's $15 burger-and-beer special runs nightly from 4 to 6 p.m.

That is how the off-season starts in town. Doors close one at a time over six weeks, and they reopen the same way. According to the 2026 closure calendar from Dishing Jackson Hole, the closures overlap most heavily from Tuesday, Nov. 10 through Wednesday, Nov. 18. Before and after that stretch, more of downtown is open than the word "off-season" suggests.

The Order the Doors Close

Here are the closure dates for places in town, in sequence, as published by Dishing Jackson Hole on Sept. 28, 2026:

  1. The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club, 160 West Gill Avenue, closes Oct. 25.
  2. Roosevelts, at 140 N. Cache St. just off Town Square, closes Oct. 27.
  3. Jackson Drug, on the northwest corner of Town Square, closes Nov. 1.
  4. Coe Tavern, 85 S. King Street, serves its last night on Nov. 8.
  5. Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse close Nov. 8.
  6. Jackson Hole History Museum closes Nov. 10.

The staggering makes late October work differently from mid-November. In the last week of October, the two closures belong to dinner destinations. White Buffalo and Roosevelts both go dark early and stay closed a long time. Roosevelts is closed until Dec. 4, which makes its break the longest in town. Jackson Drug keeps serving through Oct. 31, and the Cowboy Bar and Coe Tavern stay open into November. Jackson Drug and Coe Tavern both use the time to run specials.

Snow King's dining has already wrapped up. Its hours page lists King's Grill, Aurora Summit Restaurant and Summit House Coffee Shop as closed for the season and gives no reopening date.

Nov. 10 to Nov. 18 Is When the Closures Stack Up

From Tuesday, Nov. 10 through Wednesday, Nov. 18, all of these are closed at once:

  • The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club
  • Roosevelts
  • Jackson Drug
  • Coe Tavern
  • Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse
  • Jackson Hole History Museum

That covers two of Town Square's four corners, the West Gill dining room, the King Street tavern and the museum, all at the same time. No other stretch on the 2026 calendar closes this much of downtown at once. The Cowboy Bar's closure is short at 11 days, but it falls entirely inside Jackson Drug's 19-day closure, so the two Town Square landmarks are dark together.

Some places stay open through that week. The Jackson Hole Elks Lodge is open the whole off-season, with Elktoberfest, a Halloween fundraiser, Funksgiving with live music and a community Thanksgiving dinner on its calendar. Jackson Hole Winery's tasting room is open for now. Dishing reports a closure is possible later in the season, but no date has been announced.

Sunday, Nov. 15 falls right in the middle of the thin week, and that evening the Center for the Arts hosts its Brainstorm Speaker Series with Jad Abumrad. Admission is free. The Center's other off-season event is the Wyoming Artists Showcase on Oct. 30, the same day as the Town Square Halloween event, with $25 tickets.

November also has two discounted outings for anyone hosting guests. Teton Science Schools Wildlife Expeditions is offering 2-for-1 Sunset Wildlife Tours, and Wyoming Stargazing is running 2-for-1 group tours. Both apply to tours from Nov. 1 to 30 with the promo code 2for1, which has been active since Oct. 1.

Reopenings Start a Week Before the Mountain Does

The calendar turns before the lifts do. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has set Opening Day for Friday, Nov. 27, 2026. Several places in town come back during the week before:

  • Thursday, Nov. 19: Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Steakhouse reopen.
  • Friday, Nov. 20: Jackson Drug reopens, and its $15 Classic Burger & Beer special returns for the winter. Kids Eat Free Wednesdays also come back for winter.
  • Thursday, Nov. 26: The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club resumes service on weekends.

That same Thursday, Figgie's begins its own break. It is closed Nov. 26 through Dec. 2 and reopens Dec. 3. That puts Figgie's closure over ski opening weekend, the opposite timing from most of the list.

The rest return in December. The history museum reopens Dec. 1. Roosevelts is closed through Dec. 4. Coe Tavern reopens Sunday, Dec. 6. White Buffalo goes back to daily service on Friday, Dec. 18. So the off-season keeps unwinding for about three weeks after the mountain opens.

Snow King's winter start is less settled. A local visitor guide lists the 2026-27 ski season as starting Dec. 4, but Snow King's own pages had not confirmed a date as of this writing.

Three Newcomers Shift the Gap

The calendar has one newer answer for the thin week, and two more may follow.

Robin's is open at 850 W. Broadway Ave. in the Grand Teton Plaza. It runs seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with breakfast items, crepes, boba tea, tacos and quesadillas. From 4 p.m. on, the menu is take-out snacks and dinner only. In the Jackson Hole News&Guide's report on the opening, owners Elisa and Tyler Nalley described the restaurant as a response to how few late-evening options the town has, with the paper noting that "when the sun sets in Jackson, there aren't many options left for a late dinner or snack." That gap gets wider in mid-November, when Jackson Drug, Coe Tavern and the Cowboy Bar are all closed.

Biscuit Bar is coming to North King Street. The News&Guide reported it was set to open "in the coming weeks." It will serve Caffe Luxxe coffee and in-house pastries for people, plus bison sliders and bone broth shots for dogs, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. It comes from the owners of ModernBeast, which is just around the corner. We could not confirm an opening day as of this writing.

The Farm, a nonprofit local-food storefront, is planned for 211 E. Broadway. The News&Guide described construction underway, an uncertain timeline of roughly one to two months, and planned hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. If either business opens before mid-November, the thin week gets one more option.

A Note on the Dates

Every closure date above comes from one list, and its publisher is clear about its limits:

"This list is accurate to the best of our knowledge; however, businesses may change their specials or hours without alerting us. Please verify details directly before visiting."

Dishing Jackson Hole also says businesses missing from the list likely keep standard hours. The dates line up the same way either way: closures spread out from Oct. 25, overlap most from Nov. 10 to 18, and unwind starting Nov. 19, eight days before Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens on Nov. 27.

The same calendar that sets the town's restaurant schedule also sets the pace for property decisions in the valley, and the weeks before Opening Day are a common window for owners to plan what comes next. To talk through the calendar ahead, Work with Colby Murphy.
