Gun Barrel Steak & Game House

862 W Broadway, Jackson

Locally owned and operated since 1993, this iconic steakhouse is known for its exotic game dishes, offering everything from buffalo and venison to elk. Housed in the former Wyoming Wildlife Museum & Taxidermy, Gun Barrel embraces the rich history of the West. Antique cowboy artifacts line the walls, many of which hold historical significance, such as Hank Williams' 1800s buffalo coat, which he wore on his Lone Wolf album, and striking Harrison Crandall photographs taken in Grand Teton National Park in the 1940s.

The menu is just as impressive as the decor. Start with the fried green tomatoes or the indulgent roasted bone marrow, and save room for the main event. Signature dishes include the mesquite-grilled elk loin served with red wine and huckleberry reduction, and the mixed game grill features elk steak, bison prime rib, and venison bratwurst. Pair your meal with a side like garlic mashed potatoes or sweet potato puree for a satisfying and flavorful feast.
