Organic & Farmers Markets in Jackson Hole: Where to Find Fresh Produce

Colby Murphy

Jackson Hole has become a consistent destination for fresh, locally sourced produce and organic goods. The community supports growers, ranchers, and producers who prioritize sustainable practices and quality ingredients. The area’s markets give locals and seasonal residents reliable access to greens, dairy, meats, and other farm-raised foods grown in and around Teton County.

Here's a detailed look at the best places to find fresh produce and shop like a local in Jackson Hole.

Jackson Hole Farmers Market on Town Square

Located in the heart of downtown Jackson, the Jackson Hole Farmers Market takes place every Saturday morning during the summer (this year, June 28 through September 27). Positioned directly on the Town Square, the setting is easy to access and typically filled with live music, booths from local farms, and regional food producers. This Jackson Hole farmers market runs from mid-June through early September and brings in vendors from across the region, including Idaho and Wyoming growers.

Produce stands offer seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, and locally grown greens. Many booths also sell baked goods, grass-fed meats, and handcrafted pantry staples like honey and hot sauce. Shoppers often come early for the best selection. The market is also a popular place to connect with local chefs, who frequently shop here for ingredients featured on their menus later in the evening.

People’s Market

Held every Wednesday evening (4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) during the summer at the Center for the Arts, the People’s Market brings together small farms, local artisans, and environmentally focused vendors. Organized by Slow Food in the Tetons, this market promotes regional food systems and zero-waste operations. It also includes a happy hour and food truck zone, giving the event a social element beyond just shopping.

The market emphasizes organic and sustainably produced goods. Local vegetable growers, mushroom cultivators, and flower farms set up alongside small-batch kombucha makers and herbal product lines. The vibe is informal and community-driven, making it a consistent spot for finding smaller, under-the-radar producers. Many people stop by after work for produce and stay for the food and live music.

Vertical Harvest Market

Vertical Harvest is a unique local business located on West Simpson Avenue in downtown Jackson. It operates as a hydroponic greenhouse that produces greens and vegetables year-round, even during the long Wyoming winters. In addition to supplying local restaurants, the greenhouse sells directly to consumers through its on-site market and online ordering system.

Shoppers can find fresh lettuce, microgreens, and herbs grown just steps from the storefront. The small but curated selection is especially valuable during the off-season when other farmers markets are closed. Vertical Harvest also provides employment opportunities for adults with disabilities, adding a community-focused aspect to its mission.

Slow Food Farm Stand at the Center for the Arts

During summer weekends (late June through late September), Slow Food in the Tetons hosts a farm stand in the courtyard of the Center for the Arts in downtown Jackson. This stand is open on Sundays and offers a rotating selection of goods sourced directly from local farms. Unlike the larger markets, this setup is compact and emphasizes quick, easy access to fresh produce.

Depending on availability, the farm stand typically includes greens, root vegetables, other in-season items, and occasional dairy or meat products. Because it partners with multiple farms, shoppers get a cross-section of the region's harvests in one place. The stand is popular with residents who want to shop without navigating a larger crowd or waiting until mid-week.

Rations Market by Provisions

Provisions, a locally owned business known for its meal delivery and catering services, operates Rations Market to supplement its culinary offerings. Located in Jackson, the shop focuses on locally sourced ingredients, small-batch products, and ready-made meals made from regional produce and meat. While not a traditional farmers market, it serves a similar purpose for those looking for high-quality food with a local connection.

Products rotate frequently, including salad kits, bone broth, locally raised beef, and plant-based entrees. This is a good place for shoppers who prefer curated selections or want to support local farms without buying in large quantities. It’s also a practical option for picking up prepared food rooted in the same local supply chains as the larger outdoor markets.

Farm Stands and Pop-Ups Around Wilson

Wilson, just west of Jackson, is home to several independent growers who occasionally host pop-up stands or farm pickups. These are typically announced through local email newsletters, social media, or community boards. The offerings vary but often include eggs, herbs, lettuces, and seasonal vegetables grown just a few miles from town.

These informal setups allow for direct interaction with growers and the chance to buy produce harvested the same day. Because they’re more localized, they often run on an honor system or limited hours. They supplement larger markets and allow committed local shoppers to maintain their connection to Jackson Hole farmers market sources throughout the week.
